The year 2018 was a challenging, but exciting period for Russian retail. Key challenges came from the pension reform and appreciation of VAT, for example, while excitment was caused by retailers' attitude towards these changes. Today, when the market has been put in a straight jacket, so to say, many opt for decisions they started talking about several years ago. Technology is gaining a firmer foothold in the retail segment, being integrated with retail and showing decent results. Coming to the forefront in retail operation are such vaues as client service and optimization of all processes. Movement means life, so changes are inevitable.
