RosEuroDevelopment has begun construction on the Planeta (Eng. – planet) chain of interregional shopping and entertainment centers in Russian cities with populations of at least one million citizens. The complexes are slated to be built in Krasnoyarsk, Tyumen, Novosibirsk, Samara, Omsk, Ufa and Cherepovets, with the developer investing part of its own funds and attracting the remaining amount to construct the nearly $1-billion chain of retail centers.
Each facility is planned to exceed 100,000 sqm in floor space, with the exception of the 52,000-sqm Cherepovets complex. The Planeta centers will either be located in the center of each city or along the major arteries; thereby, according estimates released by representatives from RosEuroDevelopment, being exposed to at least 500,000 citizens.

All the shopping and entertainment centers will be united by a single concept: each Planeta will house a grocery and electronics operator, respectively, a DIY store, a multiplex cinema, a children’s entertainment center, bowling alleys, a food court and other retail points. The centers in Tyumen and Krasnoyarsk are slated for delivery in 2008, while the other are set to be launched in 2009 and 2011, respectively.
